When do you know you need a haircut?

The beautiful thing about hair is there are so many styles and different ways to wear your hair. In this post, I’ll be going more in depth about how often you need a haircut and when you know that you need one.
There are so many factors that go into maintaining a hair cut. First, if you color treat your hair, the hair is taking on more chemical and thermal damage than natural hair so I always recommend 6-8 weeks in between cuts. If your hair is natural and you use less to medium thermal heat on it, I recommend 3-4 months.

Something to consider is if you are trying to maintain a certain hairstyle, know it will be more of an upkeep. Every hair cut differs and the time in between can range.

There are multiple products that help strengthen and prevent breakage so that you are able to maintain a healthy look. Kerastase thermiques are leave in moisturizers that protect the hair up the 450 degrees and add moisture and protein to the hair. If you are wanting to grow your hair longer and stronger, I recommend our Kerastase Initialiste, which is our advanced scalp concentrate that maximizes the potential length of your hair.

Some things to pay attention to when you’re curious if you’re ready for a hair cut is:

-I like to comb all my hair straight back and look to see if there is a change of density as it gets closer to the ends.

-Another way is to look closely at the ends of your hair and if you noticed little white beads on the hair, those are the beginnings of split ends. If you notice either of these, it’s time for a haircut!

At the end of the day, if healthy, full hair is what is desired than don’t be afraid of a good haircut and as always good product!
